Bio:
Growing up in Yellowstone, a neighborhood located on the South Side of Houston,Texas; you have two types of people; go-getters and crumb snatchers. At the young age of 13, D-Moe (L.A.R.N KingUno) chose to be a go-getter and not a crumb snatcher. When he discovered the recording studio known for launching the careers of many of Houston’s underground hip-hop artists in one of Houston’s well-known hot spots King’s Flea Market. He was inspired to write and record his first song “Freestyle Kings” with his friend Lil Jimmy while still attending Cullen junior High school.
D-Moe (L.A.R.N KingUno) confidence grew even more when he started getting positive feedback from his friends and family including his cousin Yung Husain, who had just signed a recording contract with Speekeezy Entertainment as a member of the group M-Squad.
With little access to a personal studio and short of cash to pay for studio time to record additional tracks, his mother felt it would be a good idea if he moved to Missouri City Texas to live with Yung Husain and his family for a while; to experience a different environment and get away from the street life he was slowly being drawn into.
D-Moe (L.A.R.N KingUno) spent so much time in the studio with his cousin and M-Squad, he started writing verses to the tracks M-Squad was recording, hoping to gain a spot on one of their songs as a featured artist.
His big break came when Yung Husain wanted to record a song based on the nickname for Houston,TX; called “H-Town”. The other members of M-Squad thought at best the song might be a regional hit, with little impact outside of Houston. But D-Moe (L.A.R.N KingUno) convinced Yung Husain to let him write a verse for H-Town, which led to him recording his first track with M-Squad and Speekeezy Entertainment.
The other members of M-Squad were so impressed with D-Moe (L.A.R.N KingUno)’s talents they invited him to become a full member of the group, but D-Moe (L.A.R.N KingUno) was still addicted to the street life. Caught up in the rap game and his instant fame he started missing recording session and on one occasion disappeared for several weeks (during which they thought he was back at home with his mom).
But D-Moe (L.A.R.N KingUno) was far from home, he was in a Harris County facility, waiting to be transferred to TDC steering down a 7 year sentence.
Cut off from his friends, family, the studio and music he loved; D-Moe (L.A.R.N KingUno) was forced to sit on the sidelines and watch as his label and group mates enjoyed fame and success.
With the release of Yung Husain’s Last Man Standing, M-Squad’s Texas Most Wanted - Vol 1 & 2 mixtape series and the release and worldwide distribution of the singles Where They Dew That At, Sex in the Rain and Up From The Bottom.
D-Moe (L.A.R.N KingUno) only choice was to focus on his writing while dreaming of his return to the studio and freedom. During his incarceration he wrote more than enough verses to complete several mixtapes including all the tracks for his debut mixtape “Unfinished Business”.
Now back on the street with a vengeance D-Moe (L.A.R.N KingUno) is more than ready to showcase his talents.
