Infamous Bentley is a D-Boy from the back streets of the southside of Houston Texas, right off the 6400th block of Calhoun Street, in a neighborhood known as Yellowstone Texas. Yellowstone Texas was a hotbed of illegal activities; from murders to drugs to prostitution, “The Block Was Always Hot”. With his mother in jail and his father not in the picture there was very little his grandmother could do to keep him away from a life of crime. He looked up to and admired the hustlers and drug dealers from his neighborhood who seemed to have all the money, nice cars and beautiful women.
Bentley was also heavily influenced by Hip-Hop music, especially the Chopped and Screwed movement started by the legendary DJ Screw and the Screwed Up Click (S.U.C.) who’s members were mostly from the Southside of Houston Texas.
Using his grandmother’s house as the staging point; Bentley and his friends D-Moe (L.A.R.N KingUno), Hundun, Chip, Fam, and Tray formed a crew: Loyalty Among Real Niggas (L.A.R.N). They spent most of their time plotting and thinking of ways to be a part of the reckless life of the streets or spitting bars about the glamorous lives they saw the guys they admired living. What little his grandmother got from SSI Benefits and government assistance was not enough to support Infamous Bentley and his two sisters, for Infamous Bentley the life of a drug dealer or street hustler was his only escape from a life of poverty.
Infamous Bentley and his friends needed to be recognized by one of the major players from his neighborhood who would give them their big break and a chance to earn real money. They jumped at every opportunity to run errands, serve as lookouts and even provide street muscle, for the guys they admired; while learning as much as they could about the street game.
But Infamous Bentley quickly realized the street life was not what he thought it would be; with the knowledge he gained from the pimps, hustlers and dealers, Infamous Bentley came to the conclusion that his life was going to end in one of two ways; six feet under in a grave or in a prison cell.
In 2008 that conclusion became a reality when Infamous Bentley found himself in front of a judge with two felony charges and sentenced to more time in the Texas correctional system, then he had been on the planet earth.
In prison Bentley had time to reflect on the decisions that led to his incarceration, life in a cage was a blessing compared to the fate of so many of his friends who had lost their lives to the streets. But the real cost of his incarceration was the pain and suffering he had caused his family. He needed a way to apologize and make things right with his family, he needed an outlet to tell them his side of the story and also the world what live on the streets was really like.
Live on the streets wasn’t about balling with your homies, making lots of money, and having beautiful women; that was all a lie. Infamous Bentley decided to use music as that outlet, and since he only found peace of mind when he used his pen, he wrote four or five songs a day, held concerts in the dayroom for his fellow prisoners and wisely dedicated his time in prison to making himself a better person. Infamous Bentley also learned D-Moe (L.A.R.N KingUno), one of the original members from L.A.R.N had signed with Speekeez Entertainment as a member of the group M-Squad and was one of the featured artists on the Texas Most Wanted - Vol 1 & 2 mixtape series.
When Infamous Bentley was finally released from prison he was ready to hit the recording booth with a vengeance, he had close to two decades worth of material he had to get out to the world. He reached out to D-Moe (L.A.R.N KingUno) and together they worked on restarting the L.A.R.N movement. Infamous Bentley has several projects in the works scheduled for release later this year including; his first solo mixtape Collateral Damage, the L.A.R.N mixtape featuring D-Moe (L.A.R.N KingUno) and R.I.C.O. plus a collaboration with Yung Husain titled 2 The Hard-Way.
